Sue Bird,Sr VP of Geology and Underground, Principal,M Sc., P.Eng.,Geological and Mining Engineer (NI 43-101 QP).Sue is a Geologic and Mining engineer with over 30 years of experience in the mining industry, including resource estimation, mine planning, cash flow analyses and geotechnical engineering on projects throughout the Americas, Europe and Africa. Experience includes work on projects from prospecting through to scoping studies and to operations of both open pit and underground mines. Deposit type experience includes varieties of epithermal Au, Porphyry Cu-Au-Mo, vein gold, base metal, rare earth, iron ore, bauxite and complex coal deposits. Sue is currently focusing on resource modelling, reconciliation and drillhole targeting. Current expertise includes: QP for Resource Estimation on numerous NI 43-101 reports, auditing, due diligence and fatal flaw analysis, exploration and in-fill drillhole placement optimization, dilution estimates and reconciliation of resource/reserve estimates.
Marc Schulte, VP of Engineering and Operations P.Eng., (NI 43-101 QP) Marc Schulte is a licensed professional mining engineer with over 20 years of combined experience in operations and consulting in the mining and metals industry. He has been involved with operations in Western Canada, and internationally as a consultant on various engineering studies. Experience includes precious metals, coal, industrial minerals, REE, oil sands and aggregates. Marc is skilled in Mining Engineering, Mine Design, Strategic Project Planning, Long Mid and Short-Range Productions Scheduling, Equipment Selection, Cost Estimating and Financial Modeling. He is an expert level Minesight user. Marc has experience as an NI 43-101 QP and JORC CP in the areas of reserve estimation, mine planning, capital and operating cost estimation and economic analysis.
Jim Gray, Chairman of Board of Directors and Principal, P.Eng., Mining Engineer (NI 43-101 QP): Jim has 45 plus years of consulting and mine operations experience encompassing resource estimation, conceptual scoping studies, strategic planning, detailed designs, production schedule optimization, capital and operating costing, permitting, new mine start-up, operations management, and operations planning and supervision. He has worked in underground tin in Tasmania and open pit operations in Canada for Fording Coal in the Elk Valley and in Prairie strip mining. Since leaving operations, he has been consulting internationally for 15 years in Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Australia, Iran, and North America. Jim was involved with the Quebrada Blanca project in Chile from original conceptual planning through resource development, financing, and start -up and productions reconciliation for non-recourse funding conditions. He is a NI 43-101 QP, has provided review consulting for Transalta, Teck Cominco, Placer Dome, and consulted on numerous projects around the world. Jim has been involved in equipment control and production monitoring systems for large mining equipment and fleet management as a Director of Aquila Mining Systems.
Greg Trout, Principal, P.Eng., : Greg has 40 plus years of experience as an Engineer in mining operations and consulting. His operations experience has been in western Canada in the Elk Valley Operations (Fording Coal, Conuma Resource), Canada and in Nome, Alaska. Operational experience has included civil projects, mine planning, operations, maintenance and VP Operations for 3 metallurgical coal open pit operations. For the last 24 years, Greg has been working on Due Diligence, Operations, PEA’s and Feasibility studies for clients in North and South America and Europe.
Roger Berdusco, Principal, Sustainability, B.S.F, RPF, Professional Forester: Roger has over 45 years of experience in coal mining management focused on Environmental, Permitting and Regulatory, Aboriginal, and Community Affairs. During those years, he also had responsibilities that included operational and exploration geology, and Public Affairs. He worked for over 30 years at Teck and its predecessor mines in the Elk Valley, and three years at the corporate office in Calgary, AB. There he supervised Corporate Environmental and Aboriginal Affairs for six coal mining operations in BC and Alberta, the United States and Mexico. Roger and the companies he represented were recognized on many occasions for excellence in Environmental Management at provincial and federal levels.
Michael Petrina, Principal, P.Eng., MBA, Mining Engineer (NI 43-101 QP): With 35 plus years working in the mining industry, Mike delivers a vast array of underground and open pit mining expertise. He is knowledgeable in management, operations and mine engineering aspects of the industry; able to provide a global perspective on the diverse issues associated with mine permitting, planning, economics, and all issues in between. Strong competencies include technical/operational problem solving, project optimization, managing large budgets, working with organization stakeholders, and project development. Mike is fluent in Spanish.
